The first-place Montreal Cardinals welcomed George Washington to Nezahualcoyotl HS Grounds.

The Montreal Cardinals beat the George Washington Patriots, 10-5, at Nezahualcoyotl HS Grounds. Montreal second baseman Jim Goudeau earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He was 2-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. The Cardinals, now 3-0, have stormed out of the gates.

Jim Clifton helped out the Montreal cause in the bottom of the fifth inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the left fielder went 1 for 4 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.

"The boys came out and just played their butts off," said Montreal manager Hector Corretjer.
