Mustangs Bridle Jaguars, 3-1
|
The Mustangs had to overcome a fine performance from Jacksonville State pitcher Nate Salak to grab a 3-1 win at Silvertips Ballpark. Salak allowed 3 earned runs over 8 innings. Joe Jackson got credit for the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 0.1 innings. Jake Reynolds was credited with the save for San Marin, his 2nd of the season.
San Marin took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the seventh inning. With two out, left fielder Freddy Ramos hit a 2-run home run that brought the crowd to its feet.
"We faced good pitching and still got it done," said Ramos.
The Mustangs keep rolling, raising their record to 3-0.
