Larson Shines in Patriots Win
|
The Francis Lewis Patriots powered past the Santa Clara Vampires, 9-4, at River Otters Ballpark. Bryan Larson was 3 for 4 with 2 home runs, a double, and a walk. He scored 4 times and drove in 3, to lead the charge. The winner was Curt Dixon in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Geoff Willoughby took the loss. Stephon Jackson got the save, the 2nd for him this season.
Bill Hanson's at-bat in the top of the fourth inning was a big one for Francis Lewis. Coming to bat with two out, the bases loaded and Francis Lewis leading 1-0, the first baseman drew a walk, driving in 1 run.
"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Larson.
The Patriots keep rolling, raising their record to 3-0.
