The Montreal Cardinals had no problem beating the George Washington Patriots, 12-1, at Nezahualcoyotl HS Grounds. Steve Delisle led the way. He was 4-5 with 2 home runs and 2 singles. He scored 3 times and drove in 5 for Montreal. Seth McBrayer was the winner. Over 7.1 innings, he allowed no runs on 2 hits, with 3 walks and 10 strikeouts. The Cardinals, now 2-0, have hit the ground running this season.
Montreal grabbed the momentum in the bottom of the fifth, when Delisle hit a 3-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season put the Cardinals out in front, 3-0.
George Washington manager Frank Robles said his team was "out of sync."
