Fans brought energy and enthusiasm to the Downsview Mustangs home opener. Zach Pohlmann started for the home team against Billy Bell for the Billings West Golden Bears. The Mustangs were unable to reward the home crowd with a win. The final score was 12-11, Billings West. Moses Andrews was named player of the game. Billy Bell was the winning pitcher. Over 7.1 innings, he allowed 8 runs on 12 hits, with 1 walk and 8 strikeouts. Mike Lund locked down his 1st save.

Andrews had a big at-bat with runners on 1st and 3rd in the top of the sixth inning, when he got hit by a pitch. The Golden Bears went on to win.
