The Niagara Stars picked up a win at Drummondville College Grounds, knocking off the Victoria Capitals, 4-3. On the mound for Niagara was left-hander Rick Coombs, who played a pivotal role in the win. Kendrick Nixon recorded his 7th save for Niagara. Niagara is now 20-25, Victoria 27-17.

Had Paul Collette not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Collette hit a run-scoring double. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Stars.

"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said Coombs.
