Bill Sheppard did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Niagara Stars from losing, 12-7, to the Saskatoon Legends at Ballpark of Red Deer College. Sheppard went 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. The save was credited to Jim Reusch, his 9th. Saskatoon is now 27-17.

Rick Petzinger came through for Saskatoon when he hit a 2-run single in the bottom of the first. With the bases loaded, he hit a 3-1 fastball to right field, staking his team to a 2-0 lead.

"Another day, another win. On to the next one," Petzinger told the Saskatoon Daily.
