Heat Fall Short, 5-4, at Victoria

The Victoria Capitals and Kelowna Heat obliged those fans who came to Ballpark of Chilliwack College looking for a good time.
Victoria starter Kirk Winman pitched effectively against the Kelowna Heat at Ballpark of Chilliwack College. The right-hander led his team to a 5-4 win. The winning pitcher was Winman, now 5-1. He tossed 5 innings of 1-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 11.
One significant plate appearance for Victoria came with no one out in the bottom of the sixth inning. Capitals second baseman Kip Waltenbery hit a sacrifice fly, which helped Victoria go on to win.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Victoria manager Tom Morton.
Victoria is now riding a 3-game win streak.
