Bombers Win at Hawaii, 5-2
|
The South Carolina Bombers got a stellar performance from pitcher Ángel Ruíz, who handcuffed the Hawaii offense en route to a 5-2 win at Aloha Stadium. Shi-xian Le recorded the save for South Carolina, his 1st of the season. The winning streak has now reached 4 games for South Carolina.
Had Zhao-ying Gai not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Gai hit a 3-run home run. That made the score 5-2, in favor of the Bombers.
"There were things that we could've improved upon," said Bombers manager Randy Huggett, "but all in all, I'm satisfied with our performance."
