Rain could not dampen the pregame excitement of Kelowna fans at Brantford College Grounds. But the subsequent loss, and a disappointing one at that, to the Monarchs had to.

London starter Garrison Hennessey clamped down on the Kelowna offense, while his team sailed to a 12-1 win. London's record now stands at 19-20, placing them first in the Lester B. Person League East Division.

In the top of the third inning, catcher Herbert Howe came through big-time for the Monarchs. With London leading 1-0, he belted a 3-run home run.

"The game plan didn't change," said Hennessey. "I kept pitching like it was nothing-to-nothing."
