Gideon Vaillancourt added some punch to the Victoria offense, helping them outmuscle the Montreal Royales, 13-7. In the game, Vaillancourt, who is tied for 9th in the LBL in total bases with 95, was 2-5 with a home run and a triple, while scoring 3 times and driving in 4. The Capitals, at 24-15, have now won 5 straight.

Laval, Canada-born Kip Waltenbery came through in the clutch. In the bottom of the first, with the bases loaded and the Capitals trailing 2-1, he hit a 2-run single to right to put Victoria on top.

"I believe in our guys," said Victoria skipper Tom Morton. "I like the energy they're playing with."
