Montreal right-hander Jim Spracklin made an effective start against the Saskatoon Legends at Eliminators Ballpark, leading his team to a 6-3 win. With the win, the Royales have a record of 16-22.

Montreal center fielder Gilbert Boone laid a blow when he belted a 2-run home run in the bottom of the third. It was his 7th home run of the season. With it, the Royales took a 2-0 lead.

"Enjoyed this one," Boone told the Montreal Gazette. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
