Capitals Slip Past Trois-Rivieres, 5-4
|
Trois-Rivieres pitcher Rowan Waller gave the Capitals all they could handle, but in the end, Victoria left Ballpark of Chilliwack College with a 5-4 win. Waller allowed 2 earned runs on 2 hits over 6 innings. Victoria reliever Sean Gillis picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Avery Diamond absorbed the loss. Rich Tanner finished the game for Victoria and earned his 8th save.
Chris Neale contributed an important at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a 2-run double. It was one at-bat that helped send Victoria to the win.
"You win some, you lose some. I don't get too caught up in all that," said Neale.
Victoria is 22-15 and Trois-Rivieres, with the loss, 11-26.
