The Niagara Stars overcame a good performance by Saskatoon left fielder Carl Poulin to knock off Saskatoon, 7-5, at Drummondville College Grounds. Poulin was 2-4 with 2 home runs and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. Scott Ross earned the win for Niagara. He lasted 5 innings, allowing 3 earned runs on 5 hits, while striking out 4. With the win, he raised his record to 1-1. Kendrick Nixon earned the save, his 6th, for the Stars.

John Gibbons's at-bat in the bottom of the seventh inning was a big one for Niagara. Coming to bat with two out, the bases loaded and Niagara leading 6-5, the second baseman drew a walk, driving in 1 run.
