Monarchs Deal Royales 10-6 Setback
|
Montreal got a terrific performance from shortstop Kelton Burton, but it wasn't enough to beat the London Monarchs. London won the Hatchets Ballpark contest, 10-6. Burton was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. London is in third place in the Lester B. Person League East Division with a record of 13-16.
Ron Withers came through for London when he hit a run-scoring single in the bottom of the sixth. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a 2-1 fastball to right field, staking his team to a 7-6 lead.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Withers told the London Times.
