Bloomington Bats Go Silent in 3-0 Loss
In a well-pitched game between the Brooklyn Black Knights and the Bloomington Blazers, pitcher Jan Shirazi was superb. The Brooklyn left-hander was named the player of the game in Brooklyn's 3-0 win. In 6 innings, Shirazi surrendered 1 hit, while striking out 7 and walking 5. He allowed no runs. Ti-an Dan was credited with the save for Brooklyn, his 20th of the season.

The Black Knights grabbed the lead in the bottom of the fifth. With one out, Todd McCarthy, who is a three-time All-Star, hit a 2-run home run off Ronaldo Teves, putting Brooklyn in front, 3-0. For McCarthy, it was his 9th home run of the season.

"Our guys are never satisfied," said Brooklyn manager Diego Aguirre.
