Capitals Need Extra Frames to Get Past Saints
The Victoria Capitals faced a tough opponent in Trois-Rivieres pitcher Steven Pinnell, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Blue Wings Ballpark by a final score of 4-2. Pinnell went 6.1 innings and allowed 1 earned run. The win was Jim Unknown's in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Jim Unknown took the loss for Trois-Rivieres. Rich Tanner was called on to finish, recording his 4th save.

Runs were scarce in this one. So, Gideon Vaillancourt's at-bat in the top of the 11th was vitally important. With no one out, the Victoria center fielder hit a 2-run home run, to give his team a 4-2 lead.

"We didn't go down without a fight," said Trois-Rivieres manager Salvador López.
