Legends Turn Back Kelowna, 6-4
|
The Kelowna Heat got a sterling performance from third baseman Eric Leveque, but the Legends still prevailed, 6-4. Leveque was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He went 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times. Saskatoon reliever Quinn Desjardins was credited with the win, to go to 1-0. Don Paull took the loss for Kelowna. Jim Reusch nailed down his 3rd save.
Saskatoon shortstop Eddie Steele contributed to the cause with a 2-run double in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, Steele went 2-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3.
"I like our moxie," said Legends manager Allen Cummings.
The Legends bumped their record to 13-9 with this latest triumph.
