The Niagara Stars picked up a win at Eliminators Ballpark, knocking off the Montreal Royales, 3-2. Starting pitcher Dave Arden played a key role in the triumph. In 6 innings, Arden surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 2. He allowed 1 run. Niagara is now 12-9, Montreal 10-10.
Dan Poapst played a key role in the win. The Niagara second baseman hammered a solo home run in the top of the eighth. For the game, Poapst went 1 for 4 with a home run.
