The Kelowna Heat beat the Calgary Outlaws, 10-6, at Corvettes Ballpark. The win was largely due to the efforts of catcher Bobby Hinxman, who captured player of the game honors. He went 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. The Heat are now 11-9, while the Outlaws fall to 13-7.

Kelowna left fielder John Sentner went deep in the top of the second. His grand slam home run off Calgary pitcher Pete Reidel put the Heat in front, 5-1. It was his 2nd home run of the season.

"We take it day by day here," said Hinxman, "and today was a good one for us."
