Victory Pushes Heat Record to 9-8
|
Kelowna left-hander Alex Julien made an effective start against the Trois-Rivieres Saints at Brantford College Grounds, leading his team to a 4-2 win. In 5 innings, Julien surrendered 2 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 5. He allowed no runs. Jim Unknown got credit for the save for Kelowna. It was his 1st of the year.
Mackenzie Covey was 2 for 4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI for Kelowna. With two out and the game tied in the bottom of the fourth inning, Covey had a clutch at-bat. Facing Trois-Rivieres hurler Roy Gamble, he hit a 2-run double to give the Heat a 2-0 lead.
"Throwing strikes was the main thing," Julien said.
The Heat bumped their record to 9-8 with this latest triumph.
