Montreal got a terrific game from left fielder Terry Merritt. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Kelowna, 5-3. Merritt was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He slugged 2 home runs. Kevin Palmer picked up the win with 5.1 innings of work. He allowed 3 earned runs on 4 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 6. On the season, he is now 1-1. Marcus Rumbolt closed it out for his 3rd save.

Chipping in for Kelowna was catcher Bobby Hinxman. He stroked a 2-run single in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, Hinxman was 1-4. He drove in 2 runs.

"This was a good win," said Hinxman.

Kelowna is in second place in the Lester B. Person League West Division with a record of 8-6.
