Saints Hope Win Turns Around Slow Start
|
Trois-Rivieres right fielder Tom Horne was a significant contributor in his team's 7-3 triumph over the Kelowna Heat. He went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for Trois-Rivieres. The winner was Trois-Rivieres reliever Bill Randell, now 1-0. The loser was Ernie Klein. Jim Unknown closed it out for his 1st save.
In the bottom of the fourth inning, Bennett Conroy muscled up and hit a 2-run home run. It put Trois-Rivieres ahead, 3-1. For the game, Conroy went 2 for 4 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2.
"We try to keep the mood light around here," said Horne. "Winning helps."
The Saints go to 2-11, putting them last in the Lester B. Person League East Division.
