The Calgary Outlaws defeated the London Monarchs, 7-5, at Hatchets Ballpark today. Leading the charge for Calgary was catcher Trevor Ayotte. He was 3-4 with a home run and 2 doubles, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once. Calgary reliever Travis Grosvenor was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Mike Navarro. The first-place Outlaws have a one-game lead in their division.
Mark Burr was one of the major contributors to the win for Calgary. The light-hitting third baseman stroked a single to center in the top of the eighth inning. For the day, he was 1-3 with a walk.
Burr told the Calgary Bulletin: "I don't know which I enjoy more -- being a ballplayer or the perks that come with being a ballplayer."
