Outlaws Pull Off Thrilling Win in Extras
|
The bats were silent much of the day at Ballpark of Chilliwack College. But Dan Hodgson conjured up just enough offense to carry the Outlaws past the Victoria Capitals, 3-2. Hodgson went 3-4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. Calgary, now 6-2, is playing great baseball to start the year.
The contest featured some late-game dramatics from Calgary shortstop John MacLeod. In the top of the ninth inning, with one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, MacLeod drew a walk to help Calgary seize the win.
"The game of baseball will test you," said Kiminobu Kamida, the Calgary skipper. "This one tested us."
