Poulin Delivers Clutch At-Bat for Saskatoon in Walk-Off Win
Montreal left fielder Terry Merritt had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Merritt went 4-6 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once, even as Saskatoon beat the Royales, 9-8. Merritt was named the player of the game despite the loss. Saskatoon reliever Takeshi Osumi picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Bill Rogers was saddled with the loss. Saskatoon has a record of 4-5.

Late in the game, left fielder Carl Poulin had a big at-bat for Saskatoon. In the bottom of the 15th, he hit a run-scoring single off Bill Rogers. The play gave the Legends a 9-8 lead.

"I'm glad I could get it done when the game was in the balance," Poulin said in his postgame press conference.
