The Kelowna Heat beat the Saskatoon Legends, 6-3, at Ballpark of Red Deer College. The Heat got a fine performance from right fielder Kevin Parry, who captured player of the game honors. He went 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Kelowna reliever Jack Agnew was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Zach Arrington took the loss. Kelowna, now 4-2, has gotten their season off to a good start.

Eric Lupkoski drew 1 walk for Kelowna. The 19-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the top of the sixth. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring walk off Conor Glover. It was his 1st walk of the season.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Kelowna manager Bob Cunningham.
