Royales Win at Trois-Rivieres, 10-6
|
Terry Merritt left his imprint on the 10-6 Montreal win against the Trois-Rivieres Saints. Merritt, who is rated as the 21st best prospect by BNN, went 3 for 5 with a home run, 2 singles, and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Montreal reliever Johnny Rollin picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Érik Robinet shouldered the loss. Stephen Lau picked up the save for Montreal, his 4th of the year.
Scott Yarn aided the Montreal cause with a run-scoring walk in the top of the third. For the game, the right fielder was 1-3 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.
"The name of the game is scoring runs," Merritt said. "We did a good job of that today."
The Royales, now 5-1, have been playing some good baseball.
