Kavanagh belts 2 home runs to Power Legends Offense
|
The exploits of designated hitter Burt Kavanagh, who is the 2nd-best prospect in the Legends organization, helped the Saskatoon Legends defeat the Trois-Rivieres Saints, 9-2. Kavanagh went 3-4 with 2 home runs and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 6. Ralph Sulis was the winning pitcher. Over 5.2 innings, he allowed 2 runs on 7 hits, with no walks and 3 strikeouts. The Legends, now 1-2, have not found much traction so far in 2032.
Kavanagh contributed when he hit a grand slam in the top of the sixth. Coming with two outs and the bases loaded, the home run proved to be critical to helping Saskatoon get the win.
"If I do my job, we've usually got a good chance to win the game," said Kavanagh.
