Capitals Lose, 7-2, at Eliminators Ballpark
|
Montreal left fielder Terry Merritt had a 3-RBI performance, which helped his team grab a 7-2 win over the Victoria Capitals. Mike Norton got the win, improving to 1-0. He held the Capitals to 2 earned runs on 5 hits over 5.1 innings, while striking out 6 and walking 2. Lucas Bunney closed the door for Montreal, picking up his 1st save of the year.
One important at-bat for Montreal came with two out in the bottom of the third inning. With a runner on 1st, Merritt hit a run-scoring double, which contributed to the Royales win.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Merritt.
Montreal, at 2-0, is off to a blistering start.
