|
The Brooklyn Black Knights stymied the Dallas Texans, 4-2, at Metroplex Park. Kawanari Takahashi, who had a good day at the plate, was named player of the game. He was 2-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for Brooklyn. Fred Price picked up the win with 7.2 innings of work. He allowed 2 earned runs on 7 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 3. On the season, he is now 7-6. With the victory, the Black Knights record now stands at 42-33.
It could have been a different outcome for Brooklyn, had it not been for Nobuhisa Ito, the 27-year old second baseman . Ito contributed a run-scoring triple in the top of the third inning to put Brooklyn up, 1-0.
Dallas manager Anastasio Ojeda said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
