Razorbacks Pull Even With 5-2 Victory
|
Getting an impressive start from Tony Reed, Arkansas beat North Carolina by the score of 5-2. Reed got the win, improving to 3-2. He allowed 5 hits and walked 2 over 5.1 innings. Reed allowed 1 earned run. Paul Wadden recorded his 10th save for Arkansas.
Jay Kelm went 2-4 with a double. He scored 2 times for Arkansas. The 19-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the top of the third. With one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring single off John Roberts. It was his 30th hit of the season.
"Tony was pounding the zone," said Arkansas manager Chris Fleet.
Arkansas is 15th in the Ron Fraser Division with a record of 23-23.
