Eric Martindale was superb against Tulane. The left-hander, who is tied for 8th in the RDL with a 3 quality starts, had a fastball that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a 4-3 Cougars victory. Martindale, the winner, moves to 3-1. He threw 5 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 13 and giving up 1 walk. Joe Campton was credited with the save for Washington State, his 9th of the season.

In the bottom of the 5th, the Cougars grabbed the lead on a two-out home run by John Vincenzi. Washington State at the time was trailing 2-1, but Vincenzi's 3-run home run off Cole Kulp put his team in front.

"I like our mindset right now," said Washington State manager Shinsui Sato.
