The Kansas Jayhawks racked up a win at Titans Ballpark, bumping off the Alabama Crimson Tide, 6-5. Travis Thomason, who started for Kansas, pitched effectively for his team. Sterling Gutwein nailed down his 6th save. The winning streak has now reached 4 games for the Jayhawks.

Cole Lombardo said the idea of hitting a home run barely crossed his mind when he came to bat in the top of the eighth. Lombardo belted a 3-run home run to stake Kansas to a 6-3 lead. His 2nd home run of the season came off Alabama pitcher Cole Orgera.

"Getting the win feels nice," said Thomason. "More importantly, I had a good game."
