Multi-HR Game for Wilson in 11-4 Win
|
The North Carolina Tar Heels trumped the Oklahoma State Cowboys, 11-4, at Canaries Ballpark. North Carolina first baseman Bryan Wilson was named player of the game for his performance. He hit 2 home runs, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 6. Mike Winter earned the win to go to 8-1. He allowed 1 earned run on 1 hits, with 2 walks and 10 strikeouts. With the victory, the Tar Heels record now stands at 28-17.
Wilson contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for North Carolina in the top of the third. With his team trailing 1-0, Wilson took a fastball from Bryan Marks and stroked the home run to left. His 22nd home run of the season allowed the Tar Heels to leap in front, 3-1.
