Donohue Helps Tigers Beat Horned Frogs
|
The LSU Tigers beat the TCU Horned Frogs, 6-2, at Dingoes Ballpark. The Tigers got a fine performance from designated hitter Eric Donohue, who captured player of the game honors. He went 3-5 with a home run and a double, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once. Grant Blackburn was the winner. Over 5.2 innings, he allowed 2 runs on 6 hits, with 1 walk and 5 strikeouts. The Tigers have now won 5 straight.
There was more than one reason the Tigers beat the Horned Frogs, but Donohue's big at-bat in the top of the fifth was an important factor. He staked his team to a 6-2 lead when he hit a grand slam.
"If we play well, we'll win our share of games," said Donohue. "The only team that can beat us is us."
