Sooners Roll to 9-1 Win Over Tigers
|
The Oklahoma Sooners thumped the Missouri Tigers, 9-1, at Biglerville College Fields. Sam Bond was a big reason his team got the win. Bond went 3 for 5 with a triple and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Eddie Rodriges picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 7-2. Bill Frick was tagged with the loss. With the win over Missouri, the Sooners improved to 21-22.
Danny Morris played a key role in the win for the Sooners. The designated hitter punched a 2-run home run in the bottom of the first inning. For the game, Morris was 1-3 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"We didn't put up much resistance," said losing manager Jeffrey Coffman.
