Hardy Fashions Shutout Against Portland
|
Joe Hardy of the Havana Stogies spun his magic on the Portland Beavers today. He blanked them 7-0 on 5 hits, registering 8 strikeouts and 1 walk.
"The bottom line was I just kept the ball down," Hardy said. "My breaking stuff was down. Everything was down."
Talking to reporters in the postgame interview, Havana skipper Reynaldo Vázquez said the team "got solid pitching, good defense and took great team at-bats in a lot of different situations."
"Joe pitched really well but this was a solid performance by everyone," he said.
This season Hardy has a 11-2 record with a 1.34 ERA.
