Beavers Topple Ducks with Late Rally
|
The Oregon State Beavers did just enough to secure a 7-6 victory over the Oregon Ducks at Palisades Ballpark. Nobody did more than designated hitter Danny Frampton, who captured player of the game honors. Nick Byrnes got credit for the win, improving to 2-2. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. This loss makes it 6 in a row for Oregon.
Oregon State took a 7-6 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning. With two out, catcher Jason Campbell hit a 2-run home run that fired up the crowd.
"Nothing is scripted in this game," said Campbell.
