Longhorns Fall Short at Mississippi State
|
Mississippi State right-hander Frank Gentry helped his team edge Texas by the score of 3-2. Gentry kept the opposing lineup in check. Devonte Lebeaux picked up the save, his 9th. Mississippi State is now 22-20. Texas is 19-23.
J.P. Pinkerton contributed a productive at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he drew a walk. It was one at-bat that propelled Mississippi State to the win.
"Not to put too fine a point on it," said Pinkerton, "but we really needed that win."
