Bulldogs Cut Down Titans, 8-1
|
Fresno State got an elite performance from starting pitcher Danny Jensen in taking a 8-1 decision over the Cal State Fullerton Titans. Jensen, the winner, moves to 5-0. He threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 1 walk. Fresno State is now 32-10, 5 games up in the Cliff Gustafson.
John LeMoine went 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for Fresno State. With two out and the game tied in the top of the second inning, LeMoine had a clutch at-bat. Facing Cal State Fullerton hurler Wally Hall, he hit a 2-run single to give the Bulldogs a 2-0 lead.
"I thought we played a nice game," LeMoine told the Fresno State Times. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
