South Carolina beat Miami at Gremlins Ballpark, eking out a 6-5 win. The win was due in large part to third baseman Josiah Beil, who earned player of the game honors. Chris Terry picked up the save for South Carolina, his 10th of the year. South Carolina is now 21-21, Miami 23-19.

A key at-bat came in the top of the sixth inning. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, the batter, Paul Gonzalez, hit a run-scoring single. It made the score 3-2, South Carolina, and helped them go on to win.

"Not to put too fine a point on it," said Gonzalez, "but we really needed that win."
