Tulane laid the wood on Stanford at Berthoud College Grounds.
The Tulane Green Wave pounded the Stanford Cardinals, 17-0, at Berthoud College Grounds. Tulane catcher Jim Sims was named player of the game for his performance. He was 3 for 5 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 5. Cole Kulp got the win, improving to 1-2. He worked 6 innings, giving up no runs on 2 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 1. Josh Cavanaugh earned the save, his 1st.
Brian Goodman played a key role in the win. The Tulane designated hitter hammered a grand slam home run in the bottom of the first. For the game, Goodman went 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 times and driving in 5.
"Not much drama in this one," said Sims.
Even with the win, the Green Wave have a dismal 13-28 record.
