Fest Excels in Cal State Fullerton Win
|
Vince Fest added some punch to the Cal State Fullerton offense, helping them outmuscle the USC Trojans, 13-7. In the game, Fest went 1 for 2 with a home run and 3 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4. The Titans' win now puts them at 18-23.
Had it not been for Bill Loving, the results might have been different. In the top of the eighth inning, when the Titans were trailing 6-5, Loving hit a bases-clearing double for Cal State Fullerton, giving his team the lead.
Titans manager Jeffrey Woodruff wasn't all too pleased, despite the win, telling reporters that the performance highlighted some clear areas for improvement moving forward. He refused to be more specific, however. "I'm not gonna publicize our weaknesses," he said. "That stuff stays in the clubhouse."
