Tigers Reel Off Another Win
|
The Missouri Tigers picked up a win at Zodiac Ballpark, knocking off the Auburn Tigers, 4-3. Starting pitcher Eric Wynne, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Chris Van Arsdale earned the save, his 10th, for the Tigers. Missouri has now reeled off 6 straight wins.
A key at-bat in the game came in the top of the sixth inning when the Tigers sent teenager Ivan Lopez to the plate against Tigers hurler Chris Sykes. With a runner on 3rd and a whole stadium watching, the kid controlled his nerves and delivered huge, hitting a single off a 0-1 changeup to score 1.
"I like the roll we're on right now," said Lopez after the game.
