Commodores Suffer 7-6 Setback
|
Georgia Tech starter Jeff Farrar had a strong outing against the Vanderbilt Commodores at Castles Ballpark. The left-hander was a big part of his team's 7-6 win. Angel Anaya, credited with the win, is now 2-4. He allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 1 innings. Jim Unknown picked up the save for Georgia Tech, his 1st of the year.
B.J. Richards brought the hometown crowd to its feet with no one out in the bottom of the fifth. That's when the 19-year old shortstop belted a 3-run home run. With the round-tripper, the Yellow Jackets took the lead, 5-2.
"I have a really good team behind me," Farrar said. "I trust them 100 percent."
Georgia Tech, now 18-23, holds 19th place in the Ron Fraser Division.
