Big Day by Renfroe Sparks 49'ers Win
The Long Beach State 49'ers topped the Ole Miss Rebels by the score of 12-4, with the biggest share of the credit going to left fielder Billy Renfroe. Renfroe was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 3 for the 49'ers on the day. Earning his 2nd save of the year was Scott Mims. The 49'ers saw their win-loss record go to 25-15. At the same time, the Rebels fell to 19-21.

The 49'ers used some clutch hitting to beat the Rebels, a good example being the at-bat of Jason Rizzo in the bottom of the second. With two down, Rizzo gave his team the lead, 2-0, when he hit a 2-run single.
