The Iowa State Cyclones downed the Clemson Tigers, 16-5, at Forney College Grounds. Steve Lanier led the way, going 3-for-3 for Iowa State. With the victory, the Cyclones record now stands at 25-15.

One important at-bat for Iowa State came with two out in the bottom of the second inning. With the bases loaded, Lanier got hit by a pitch, driving in 1 run, which contributed to the Cyclones win.

"Good win for us," said Lanier. "We'll lace up our cleats and go after the next one."
