Cougars Walk It Off for 21st Win of Season
|
In a low-scoring game between Houston and Oregon, pitcher Chris Durkin was excellent. The Houston right-hander was named the player of the game in Houston's 2-1 win. Houston is now 21-19, Oregon 25-15.
In the bottom of the ninth, with two out and the game tied, 1-1, shortstop Joe Shook won it for Houston. With a runner on 2nd, Shook hit a 2-2 curveball from Mike Russo for a run-scoring single, giving his team a 2-1 win.
"We did just enough to win," Durkin said.
