The Arizona Wildcats took Cal State Fullerton pitcher Karl Macey's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Red Wings Ballpark. The final score had Arizona getting past the Titans, 3-1. Macey went 5 innings and allowed 1 earned run, striking out 7. Arizona reliever Dane Widell picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Keon Ford absorbed the loss. The Wildcats go to 17-22, putting them 17th in the Cliff Gustafson.
Arizona took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the seventh inning. With no one out, catcher Johnny Liddick hit a solo home run that aroused the crowd.
Liddick said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
